Christians today are besieged by false teachings from every quarter. Many are simply not prepared to defend their faith, their lifestyle, or their calling. The answer is found in God's words in Psalm 46:10. He said, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Early believers relied on memorizing creeds to help them to recall the bedrock upon which their beliefs rested. Author Biography
While a teenager, Chris became a born-again Christian in 1980 in a small Southern Baptist congregation in Caracas, Venezuela. He holds a degree from Campbell University and took some studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. While his career is in software development, he is a dedicated lay teacher and has spent many years teaching adult and youth Bible studies and Sunday School classes. Chris' personal favorite subjects are theology and the Biblical original languages, especially Greek. Chris has been married for the past 28 years to his wonderful wife, Sherry. They have one daughter, Rebekah, who is the apple of their eye. Over the years, they have had the benefit of sitting under some excellent pastoral teaching and currently are members of Burlington Assembly of God in Burlington, North Carolina. It is Chris' conviction that a Christian's growth demands their all (e.g. Matthew 13:44) and thus is one of the subjects that he writes and speaks about often.
