Valley Care Association has been a leader in providing comprehensive, high-quality elder care in the Sewickley Valley since its founding in 1978. Formed through an unprecedented partnership of nonprofit organizations and concerned citizens, Valley Care made a commitment to address this vital need. With broad community support, it raised funds and hired experts to develop and operate Valley Care Nursing Home and two Adult Day Care Centers, establishing services that have met changing elder care needs for four decades. In 1999, the nursing home became part of the Masonic Village retirement community. Today, Valley Care continues to support the elderly as a pillar of the community. Author Biography
Janice Jeletic has lived her entire life within a few miles of Sewickley. Her marketing and communications career has focused on financial services, consulting, healthcare and higher education. She devotes her free time to volunteer work through her church and community-based organizations that improve the quality of life for local residents in the North Boros of Pittsburgh. Alison Conte has lived in the Sewickley area for thirty years and enjoys researching and writing about the region's history. A former employee of Sewickley Valley Hospital and the Sewickley Herald, she is currently working in healthcare marketing. She published her first novel, Beyond Normal, in 2016. Alison spends any free time with her husband, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, Violet.
