by Craig Morse (Author), Sara Hren (Illustrator)

There is no one situation we must wait for to reach out to the Lord. We are encouraged to pray-in any and all situations-with a passion derived from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. This, in turn, will lead to a life of meaningful prayer and a closer relationship with God.

Craig Morse desired such a life and wondered how he could integrate what he had learned over the years to live it. Having grown up around horses-learning to ride at his grandmother's farm and teaching horsemanship at a Christian camp-and always wanting to be a cowboy, he began using daily objects to give him examples to consider while he prayed and was pleasantly surprised to find encouragement in prayer as he did.

Thoughts for Prayer: A Cowboy's Perspective is the result of such a correlation as this collection offers thirty prayers for safety, strength, encouragement, rest, and more using a motif that is meaningful to Craig: horse tack. Through these prayers, others are encouraged to consider their own life of prayers, perhaps even use their own meaningful motif in their pursuit of knowing God the Father through God the Son being guided by God the Holy Spirit through prayer.

Born as the fourth of six children in Seattle, Washington, Craig Morse grew up in the Gig Harbor area, now called the Key Peninsula. He pursued Christ at an early age and has been guided by a faithful God throughout his life. He has two masters in religious studies and divinity, has worked in the IT world, and has been a "lay" counselor for ten years. The Lord blessed Craig with five children, two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, and two grandkids. His interests include reading, exercise, outdoor activities, pottery, growing old, and the hope for more grandkids.
