by Philip Watson (Author)

This book The Son is primarily about the 3 years of Jesus' ministry, asking "What was Jesus like as a person?", in order that we can walk in his footsteps. The book begins with three, very different images of Jesus. (1) Relationship, relationship, relationship. (2) How Jesus loved children. (3) How Jesus was very, goal orientated and focussed. Chapter two looks at Jesus personal qualities, such as, courage and partiality, followed by chapters about Jesus' love' and 'faith' and a chapter titled "The road to Calvary." The final chapter illustrates with examples, how Jesus walked his talk.

Author Biography

Philip's passion is discipleship. A passion that people become disciples of Jesus and that they become, informed and effective disciples of Jesus. He began writing in 1986. His first book was a discipleship manual which covered 113 topics and included 1,500 verses from the Bible. Philip brings to his writing: A wide knowledge of the content of the Bible (a result of writing the discipleship manual) A Theological education. A book, soon to be published that makes the case, that God is our creator. A knowledge of the archaeology, that supports the stories we find in the Bible. Perspectives, from several trips to Israel. Strengths: In his writing, Philip combines the strengths of story telling and Bible teaching. He has an ability to analyse the faith and succinctly summarise the message of the Bible. Philip has had the privilege of being married to Dianne for over 38 years and they have three adult children. Philip and Dianne live in Auckland, New Zealand.
