by Jonathan Neville (Author)

The Second Edition adds several Appendices to further explain the concepts in the book. Other sections of the book have been updated and revised as well.

The Rational Restoration provides a series of reframes that enhance understanding and goodwill among everyone interested in the Restoration-believers, critics, and curious bystanders alike-by shifting consciousness toward unity.

A basic premise of this book is that God speaks, or is willing to speak, to everyone. Buddhists, atheists, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus-believers in every religious tradition, or no religious tradition, are equally children of God.
Every one of us is familiar with a sense of a conscience, or a sense of right vs wrong. Sometimes we call this "inspiration." We experience thoughts or impressions about what to say and do. We get warm feelings when we do good, and cold feelings when we don't.
But we also inherit worldviews from our parents and our respective societies. Like our first language, these worldviews guide our understanding of the world around us. To a significant degree, they tell us what is "right" and "wrong." They tell us what to believe about the nature of existence, including why we are here on Earth, where we came from, and where we are going after death.
The diversity of worldviews can, and usually does, lead to conflict and contention when we confront people who have different worldviews. Yet we are all children of God.
A modern prophet once explained that "Good inspiration is based upon good information." This profound insight helps us understand how God works with each one of us.
We can better understand our own worldviews, and those of others, when we have "good information." This can be thought of as the pursuit of "clarity, charity, and understanding."
And rationality is the common medium through which we can communicate, independent of our respective languages, cultures, and worldviews.
