Author Biography

BIOG Nigel had a childhood dream to become a New Zealand All Black Rugby Union Player. He was captain of his junior representative Rugby teams and was his College athletic & swimming champion. It appeared in time his dream of being an All Black would be realised, however due a family break up, he left home at 14 and at 16 moved from his native New Zealand to live in Australia. Within 5 years he became the youngest licensed motor vehicle dealer in the nation, and so it appeared he was on his way to financial and business success. Nigel's personal life however was a mess, he felt lost, abandoned and out of control. He believed that life had no real meaning because of the deep void he felt in his heart. He tried everything including drugs and alcohol to fill the void, but they only made things worse and his life was falling apart. One night in 1983, Nigel was walking through Cavill Mall in Surfers Paradise on Australia's Gold Coast. He was waiting to go to work as security in a local night club, when he heard a young man of about 20 years of age, by the name of Warren O'Connor preaching the Gospel. He was preaching to a large crowd that had gathered to hear him in Cavill Mall. Warren did not know it at the time but he was preaching the truths that Nigel needed to hear right then, as it was exactly what was going on in Nigel's life. After he had had finished preaching, Warren walked up to Nigel and started a conversation. They then went and sat on the beach and Warren asked Nigel if he would like to pray and ask Jesus "THE KEY TO LIFE" to be his Lord and Saviour. Nigel just knew he had to say yes!!!! and so they prayed together. That prayer changed Nigel's life eternally from that night and he was then and is now 31 years later radically transformed. Nigel is now an Evangelist and Business Conference Speaker. He had a double lung transplant in 2012 and that has not stopped him from sharing "THE KEY TO LIFE" with people around the globe. It was his relationship with Jesus "THE KEY TO LIFE" that encouraged him recently through the darkest time of his life as he awaited a double lung transplant. Nigel sent a very emotional thank you letter to his incredible donor and his family, and there is an honour page to the donor and his family in the front of the book.
