Author Biography

Laural Virtues Wauters - is a mandala artist, educator and storyteller who blends ancient wisdom teachings with modern science and Jungian psychology. She believes that through compassionate education we can awaken to our true nature and heal the wounded stories held within the personal conscious as well as the collective unconscious. Laural was born in Frankfurt, Germany in 1954. Here she experienced a mystical encounter with a tree spirit that touched her soul. At the age of seven, Laural and her family moved to the United States. Within months Laural accidentally discovered that she was adopted and her life became shrouded in secrets. This inspired Laural to unravel the mysteries of life. After her adoptive parents passed away, Laural reunited with her biological mother and uncovered an epic love story interrupted by Nazi Germany, the Cold War era and the CIA. Within nine months of their reunion, her birth mother, Karin passed away. Laural now searched within her soul. After 9/11, Laural began studying the roots of world belief from 40,000 BCE to present day as a way to bridge separation and fear. Laural left a twenty-five year career as a creative director and agency president in 2007 to heal her personal story. She visited the Smoky Mountains and reconnected with her biological father's Cherokee and Colonial (Irish, Scottish and English) roots. She traveled to Frankfurt, Germany to feel the depth of her mother's German and Jewish roots. Laural began drawing mandalas as a way to reveal the unseen and unknown aspects of her soul. She studied shamanism as a way to heal her story and the stories of her ancestors. This expanded her awareness of the energetic nature of the soul body within the physical body. It is through her personal experience and search for meaning that Laural combines her skills, passion and experience to empower others. For more information visit: www.sendingtree.com
