"The Good The Bad and The Truth" are five sets of true stories. Some 380 pages of none-stop laughs, set during a seriously rough period in the Kimberley, and the new West Australian town of Kununurra. All are very funny stories, some sad, and some terrifying. In this collection we have the lot. Power, image, greed, corporate manipulation; with death, love, and broken families. Then exposing nice people in hiding, looking for a new life in the remote Australian bush. With secrets soon discovered, and all hope lost. Then all secrets being suddenly erased by death. A runaway life ending with a very comical funeral. Can a situation be cursed and all who are involved suffer a terrible penance? "The Curse of Gold" will give you a new view on strange things... Proving yet again gold has no master. "They want my boat" to entertain the visiting Crown Prince of Thailand. This scenic trip up the Ord River quickly became an Australian government bureaucratic nightmare. "Strange facts" were discovered while researching this book. Not many people know the Kimberley area in Western Australia on the "Ord River" was named after Lord Kimberley, the British Secretary of State for the colonies. But few know that only six years prior, in 1873, this same bloke had named the Kimberley area on the "Orange River" in South Africa... Where they also found diamonds. These true stories are about smart, dumb, and ignorant people. At some time or other, we have all been guilty of being one of those in our lives. I must admit, at times I could have been one of those dumb people. Read these stories, I will let you be the judge.

Author Biography

INTRODUCTION: ABOUT THE AUTHOR At aged twelve, my family moved to Birmingham England. Then at the tender age of twenty-two, my good Irish friend Jim Mac and I immigrated to Perth Western Australia; fleeing as a ten-pound Pom, when the British Labour government increased the price of a local beer by twenty-five percent, to two-bob a pint. I admit, an impulsive move, but one I have never regretted, this being one of my better life decisions. My working background is from that of a small business owner environment, with a long career in RF communication systems engineering, computers, aviation air charter, automotive engineering, and owning a restaurant... why I don't know. I have lived some twenty-two years in the remote north-west of Australia, and a further twenty years in Perth. My hands-on and diverse business background provides me with a long list of interesting true stories to write. In other books I have written, these experiences, together with a wild and cynical imagination provided me with endless good technical input to write convincing, modern, realistic fiction. I just love writing. Pass a critical buyers eye over "The 9th Place" if you like spooky stories.
