Otto was created from the convergence of two real life situations - from the author who lost 80 pounds in less than 8 months and from a long-time friend who was a Marine gunnery sergeant for 8 years. His personal military experiences and expressions became the foundation for this cartoon illustrated weight loss manual. Sgt. Otto has 2 cartoon editions from which the reader can choose. Both books have the same methods of weight loss but the language and cartoons of "Diet Advice" are unobjectionable and restrained. "Sgt. Otto Man Diet " is for the guy that is not offended by crude language and "raw" cartoons. The author does not want the weight loss messge to be over-shadowed by the book format and presentation.
