There's nothing more violating than being robbed. Whether by gunpoint or break-in, the thought of someone taking something from you without your consent has a way of leaving permanent psychological damage that's hard to overcome, even over the course of a lifetime. John 10:10 states: "The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy but I (Yeshua), come that you might have life and have life more abundantly." Up until a few years ago, our church didn't have a permanent building to worship in. We loaded and unloaded equipment every week to and from our home to the worship facility. One day while I was at work, I received a call from our security company; our house alarm had been activated. I rushed home to find a hole had been kicked in our front door in the middle of the day. Fortunately, we had an alarm system, but equally as important, we had a door stop under the knob of the door that would prevent the door from opening. The frame of the door was split, but the door was still holding on to the door stop. Needless to say, our peace was ripped from us in a matter of seconds. I couldn't get the thought my of my mind that someone had been watching my home and waiting for the right time to break in and steal what was most valuable to me and my family: our peace. The material things they might've taken could have been easily replaced, but our peace was never restored in our first home. Many people live in a world of confusion due to having been both willingly and unwillingly violated. I say willingly because there are times when we are being robbed, because we don't know the true value of what we are willingly giving away. The common everyday thief will only steal what is valuable in their eyes. Most thieves have an eye for what they are looking for and they plan accordingly. If earthly thieves have a value system, we better believe our spiritual adversary has a value system, too. You are valuable not only to God, but you are valuable to the enemy as well. How? I'm glad you asked. Aside from our relationship with God, the mind of the human race is our greatest asset. If the enemy can warp our minds at a young age, he has a better chance of destroying generations of believers. This is why he wages war through our flesh, emotions, and sexuality. Over the next few chapters, we will explore the value of relationships and how our physical relationships mirror our spiritual relationships. You will be enlightened on why the Holy Bible speaks in volumes about sexual immorality and the seriousness of keeping ourselves pure. We will also learn why the devil uses sex as a weapon. The very act God gave us to produce life, the enemy uses to bring death. You are valuable. You are worth more than the treatment you may have allowed in your life. There is a reason the enemy wants us to destroy ourselves: because he can't! Are you ready for a journey? Through this journey you will also be challenged in your thinking in the area of relationships and how they've affected your faith in God, people, and, lastly, yourself. Family, once we learn the truth about relationship, we will begin to see our true value in the Creator's eyes. It's time we take back what was beautifully intended to bless us.Let's go. Let's be enlightened. Let's be healed. Let's talk about sex!
