by Olayinka O. Oladele (Author), Adebayo a. Oladele (Author)

Second Chance is written to create awareness on cancer. It is a resource for cancer survivors, fighters and caregivers on how to identify signs and symptoms, and cope with the advent of cancer and its fallout. In this book, you will find the authors perspectives on the relationship between medical science and faith, and their importance to the treatment of cancer. It also shows the place and importance of family, friends and community when going through cancer treatment. Many times, the primary caregiver is overlooked especially when the caregiver is a spouse. This book also gives an insight into the live of a caregiver and the stress they go through in their efforts to support the cancer patient. Lastly, the book talked about the life of a survivor as an opportunity of a second chance to live. An opportunity that is not a right but a special privilege to reorder one's life.

Author Biography

Bayo Oladele is an Information Technology professional. He was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in March 2016 after a brief but serious battle with neck and hip pains. The diagnosis was a big shock to him and his family, and the length and intensity of the treatment had a significant impact on his life. Today he is alive to testify to the glory God. Yinka Oladele is an entrepreneur, owns and operates a The UPS Store franchise in Calgary, Canada. When her husband was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2016, she dropped everything in order to take care of him. She is working on another book titled "The Caregiver - Shelter in the Storm" and co-authored this book with her husband. They co-authored this book to create awareness on cancer, encourage survivors and fighters, and to proclaim the hope and victory that we have in God through Christ. Medical Sciences have advanced with new drugs and machinery, once the disease is discovered on time, by the grace of God, it can be successfully treated. Their prayer is that very soon, cancer will be treated like chronic diseases which now have capsules, tablets and vaccines for cure.
