Brethren I believe you will imagine what it means to remain on track, don't forget we are pilgrims on earth and running a race and the word of God says in the book of Romans 9 verse 16, 'So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.' We need the help of God in this race we are running for so many reasons, Christianity is not a bed of roses, challenges, trials, temptations must come in various dimensions and only by the mercies of God that we will triumph. The Christian race is like an athlete running a marathon on the track, should the fellow fall out of the track, the resultant effect is disqualification from the tournament. The works of our hands, behavioural patterns, relationship with God determines how far we can go in this race. I want to refer you to my book titled, 'What's in your heart', explains in details about the spiritual health of our heart and thank God that divided, filthy heart can be recreated, this will help us in this race, the psalmist in psalm 51:10-12, what we need is a new heart and renewal of right spirit within us, a spirit that is not evil rather an excellent one that radiates the virtues of the almighty, this will foster a good relationship with the almighty. God dwells in us and access to secrets. An unsettled heart yields nothing, this fellow cannot enjoy the presence of the holy spirit and the joy of salvation would also be missing. The advice is for such a fellow to thirst for recreation of the heart.
