About The Book:

This book is a guide to the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola. It is intended to assist a person on a unique Christian Spiritual Pilgrimage of faith. Applying insights of contemporary psychology and insights of one of the great masters of Christian Spirituality, the reader is introduced to the five distinct movements of Christian spiritual living. Topics covered include understanding human brokenness, encountering Jesus of Nazareth and the Christ of Christian worship, coming to grips with human suffering and redemption, living with resurrection hope and accepting the gift of the Holy Breath of God, rules for discernment and election. Playing an active role in finding a spiritual companion and experiencing the benefits of ongoing spiritual direction is discussed.

About The Author:

My name is Julius Mataric Rogina. I hold a Master of Divinity and a Master of Sacred Theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University, Berkeley campus, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Religion from the Graduate Theological Union in cooperation with the University of California, Berkeley.

I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with more than forty-five years of experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, working with adolescents, adults, and older adults. My clinical work integrates comprehensive assessment with evidence-based treatment tailored to each client's unique needs and interests.

I hold Diplomate status with the Viktor Frankl Institute of Logotherapy in the United States and am an accredited member of the International Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at the University of Vienna. Helping clients discover meaning and purpose in their lives is central to my work. I am also certified by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

I am a retired priest of the Episcopal Diocese of Nevada. I have published academic work on anxiety, depression, and personality disorders and co-authored Health and Happiness: A Holistic Approach.
