The small, handwritten volume which is Robert Marten's diary of his travels in East Anglia is carefully conserved in the Norfolk Record Office. Marten writes of Great Yarmouth, where he landed after the journey by steamer from London, of Norwich as the county town of Norfolk and of Cromer, where he and his family enjoyed several days exploring.
