Live and Give is my inspirational journey through breast cancer. I am Holly Rose, a wife and mother of two, whose world was turned upside down at the age of thirty-nine after receiving a playful posting on Facebook reminding me to perform a self-breast exam. That night I did my self-check for breast cancer and, to my horror, I felt a lump. A week later a doctor coldly told me, "What I see is not very good. You have a long hard road ahead of you." Initially, my only thoughts were of my babies not having a mother and my husband living without a wife. For the next nine months I questioned, "Why Me?" as I trudged through two surgeries, four months of chemo-therapy and two months of radiation. While I was going through my treatment I was compelled to write about my experience. Quickly, I realized I had a book in hand. I describe every horrifying detail of my treatment and every terrifying emotion that hit me during my journey through breast cancer treatment.Live and Give is so much more that a story about breast cancer. It is really a book about true love, a mother's love, and friendship . . . a story about life and finding your blessings no matter what God has dealt you. Holly Rose lives with her husband, John, and their two daughters in Phoenix, Arizona. She loves/hates to exercise while listening to tunes on her iPod. She enjoys promoting and organizing events for the The Live and Give Foundation, Inc. She is passionate about helping other women going through breast cancer through the Wig Out program that offers free custom wigs. Most of all, she treasures spending time and making memories with her husband and children.
