by Jeffrey R. Crimmel (Author)

Many Baby Boomers reaching the age of retirement have thought of moving to a foreign countries such as Mexico and other third world countries. The question they tend to ask themselves is; What do I need to know and how do I prepare for such a transition? The author and his wife made such a move to Baja, Mexico in 2011 and Mr. Crimmel has documented the move in his new book, "Learning to Love the Peso." The book includes the index reference so the reader can target the areas of need including items such as banking, telephones and the internet. The book is a humorous account of the author's transition and it was written on a daily basis covering all the obstacles encountered along the way. The author also covers the mis-information presented by the news media regarding violence in Mexico and presents a clearer picture of life in the country to the south. The book is a must read for those wanting to visit Mexico or another third world country and for those thinking of making a more permanent move in their retirement years.

Author Biography

Jeffrey R Crimmel is the author of three books including "Living Beneath the Radar; A Nine Year Journey Around the World", "Learning to Love the Peso", and "Centavo; A Dog From Mexico." His first book was written 33 years after his return to the states in 1979 after spending most of the 70's living in different cultures and visiting countries like Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan, which are no longer accessible to the traveler today. Mr. Crimmel's cultural exposure changed his views of the world and gave him his Ph D in life experiences. After returning to the states he taught special education for 25 years before retiring in 2011 and moving to Baja, Mexico near the town of San Felipe. He continues to write about cultural issues in his attempts to educate his readers to see the world as different but connected on many different levels. His fourth book, "The 60s, If You Remember it You Didn't Live It" should be finished later this year and it covers many of the social issues both through the author's experiences and with the help of Wikipedia.
