Author Biography

James L. Shirley is a relatively normal father of two kids and husband. When his baby daughter started loosing weight after beginning to eat solid foods, he and his wife started freaking out. After six months, multiple doctor visits, tests, and referrals, they finally figured out she had celiac disease. James felt blessed to finally know what was going on with is daughter and especially finding that the cure would not be surgery or chemotherapy or a lifetime of drugs. The cure for celiac disease (and a number of other common digestive-based ailments) is to simply eat gluten-free. But James found eating gluten-free was harder than he thought it would be. It was hard, frustrating, and overwhelming. Sometimes he felt angry or embarrassed when he didn't know what to eat. James stuck with it though and was determined to make eating gluten-free easier for his family and anyone else he could talk to about it. With that in mind, he published Gluten-Free Diet: A Shopping Guide - a book full of gluten-free foods available in normal grocery stores around the USA. He published 10 Tasty Tacos - a recipe book with his favorite taco recipes (he loves tacos), and he has recently published Gluten-Free for Beginners.
