by Sidney Randolph Bonvallet (Author)

From The Texas Prairie to the Mountain Top unfolds a string of events God used to launch me on a quest for my destiny. My life forever changed. I was very young when our family landed on a desolate prairie where hopeless souls with dried up dreams took their last desperate stand. The extreme poverty and social barriers were impenetrable. Embers of curiosity kept the search alive. How does a girl cross the desert of fear and resist the jungle of useless distractions to discover her true self? Incredible wise and loving mentors came who believed in a potential I did not yet understand. From the bottom, the prairie, to the mountain top symbolizes the levels of enlightenment that adorned my life with adventure, struggles, internal searching, overcoming, true love, and spiritual awakening. Seeing the dawn of self-discovery flash in the eyes of fellow travelers strengthens me. A Texas girl to the bone, I embraced the history and love of our great state. Wanderlust drove me to open doors to other cultures, different ways of life, and expanded my views of the future. Boundaries were limitless. A career in the auto industry was key to success. Worried about my children, I woke in the night feeling God's call to educate myself. I acquired excellent knowledge accelerating my career and led to years of adventures. On my Bucket List of 101 goals was to climb Mount Kilimanjaro before I died, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Though it tested everything within me, conquering the climb awakened my passion for adventure. It led to walking the 530 mile El Camino trail across Spain, exploring live volcanos in Mexico and Costa Rica, trekking the Inca Trail in Peru, exploring the wildness of Africa, where my body vibrated from the thunder and power of Thompson Falls. My life taught me valuable lessons shared after each chapter. I ask readers two questions to discover the wonder of their life. Following one's destiny takes daring, courage, thrilling risks and fulfills your soul. Life is rich and fraught with breathtaking moments. I hope to meet you on the trail.
