As furniture designer and author, Norman Pirollo has acquired an education from the highest calibre woodworkers, furniture makers and contemporary artisans as well as insight into both the visual and decorative arts. Through a keen sense of design, Norman creates striking furniture incorporating unique, contemporary designs. Applying acquired skills and expertise, he pursues the design process from preliminary sketches to CAD drawing to making. His work has been featured in books such as "Studio Furniture: Today's Leading Woodworkers," "Wood Art Today 2," "500 Cabinets," as well as "Fine Woodworking," "Woodwork," "Ottawa Life," "Ottawa Citizen," "Panoram Italia," "NICHE Magazine" and other publications. He author's woodworking courses, tutorials and woodworking plans through www.woodskills.com. The woodworking courses share knowledge and expertise acquired over the years. He currently maintains a contemporary furniture design ] build blog at refinededge.blogspot.com. Over a twenty year period, he has started four woodworking companies including White Mountain Design, White Mountain Toolworks, WoodSkills, Refined Edge Design and Pirollo Design.
