Author Biography
Dr. Upchurch was raised in New Castle, Indiana, the oldest of three children. Rev. Upchurch was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene and served that denomination full-time for 18 years, leading churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan. In May of 1998 he finished a Doctor of Ministry Degree at Drew University, and followed God's direction to take a leadership position at Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio. In February, 2008, Dr. Upchurch accepted the position as Director of EXCEL adult degree programs for Huntington University. In addition to his work at HU he does consulting work for churches and higher education institutions. He is a sought after speaker on issues of faith, holiness, redemptive relationships and leadership. He is also the author of Guidebook to Curriculum Development. Dr. Upchurch married Mary Margaret Johnson in 1976 and they have three children.
