by Melt W. Van Der Spuy (Author), David Ruis (Foreword by)

The kingdom has come, is coming, and will come--but only ever through cruciform love. Was the bigger miracle the tongues of fire, or were the tongues the means of gathering the scattered nations into one Spirit-filled, radically inclusive, new humanity?

Bigger Things is a bold and unflinching journey through the heart of the modern church, inviting readers to rediscover the beauty and mess of authentic spiritual renewal. With a theologian's depth and a shepherd's heart, Melt W. van der Spuy explores the thresholds where Word and Spirit meet, where suffering and hope coexist, and where the church must reckon with empire, exclusion, and its own addiction to triumphalism.

Author Biography

Melt W. van der Spuy is a pastor, seminary professor, mentor, and Vineyard Church leader. He has pastored two Vineyard churches in South Africa and two in Canada. He holds an MTh in systematics, missions, and homiletics from Stellenbosch University in South Africa and a DMin from Fuller Seminary in leadership and succession studies. He currently pastors New Joy Vineyard Church in Surrey, British Columbia, and serves on the Vineyard Canada National Leadership Team.
