by Stephen M. Dupree (Author)

The basic nature of human relationships, highlighting marriage but applicable to all, explained and explored in a practical and usable manner. The book is written to be an enjoyable read while still informing. The book functions well as a guide book for those seeking to counsel couples/individuals on the non-religious aspects of relationships. It does not conflict with any religious teachings of which the author is aware and is not based on or derived from any of those religious teachings. The book also functions well as a workbook for couples who wish to develop their attraction into a lasting, mutually committed relationship. By viewing a variety of observed or experienced situations and interactions through the lens of various chapters of the book, pitfalls and common mistakes can be avoided. This book is an easy and interesting read. As it is intended to be approachable by all, it is not a huge tome such as might be used for teaching a psychology or sociology class. It is meant to be used by individuals at any educational level. The individual chapters can stand alone and may be read and applied outside of the context of the whole book.

Author Biography

In high school only one guy was in ROTC, choir, Audio-Visual club, and Drama club: Stephen M. Dupree. That broad spectrum of interests continues to this day and has even expanded. Raising large breed dogs, brewing and consuming craft beers, bicycling, motorcycling, politics, science fiction, travel, and of course, writing, have been added to the list of things in which he dabbles. That list is not nearly comprehensive but serves to demonstrate the breadth of his curiosity. The diversity of his avocations may be explained by his long term passion for observing and analyzing human interaction, specifically, the nature of relationships and what we get wrong, right and otherwise. A native and current resident of Knoxville, TN and citizen of the world, Dupree has a stated willingness to be where the Universe sends him. There are many more things he would happily consent to discuss over a pint of a good brewer's finest.
