by Richard A. Sr. Bean (Author)

This is a book filled with humorous tall tales and humane short stories featuring characters like Woodshed, Shrimp, Dampy, and Uncle Nelson that represent people who can be found in any small town in Maine. The author was born and raised in Maine where he has worked and lived most of his life. His writing is filled with down-home humor and fond memories of bygone years in a small-town environment. The stories are based on true happenings, told with just a "wee bit" of exaggeration at times. They are entertaining and are sure to leave the reader with a smile, along with a chuckle or two.

Author Biography

Richard A. (Dick) Bean, Sr. had just one purpose in mind when be began writing, and that was to rehabilitate an injured and damaged brain he received while working as a private contractor in a Maine paper mill. Most of the stories are true as he recalls them. Fortunately the brain damage did not affect his recall of distant events, just his short term memory. So what initially was started to rehabilitate the author's injured brain has developed into a book of humorous tall tales to be enjoyed by all.
