As a child, Kim Steadman grew up in a quiet suburb outside of Dallas, TX. You would never know she was so near to the city. Her childhood homes nestled near wooded areas or expanses of fields. While she loved her friends, her greatest friends were her books. When she was a little girl, she used to play library with her dolls. Her shelf of books in her bedroom served as the library. Each doll borrowed a book to read. She would spend her time reading to them and explored the fantastical world of reading. It was through books she developed a lifelong love of furry and winged creatures.
